Harem

"Polygamy is a stupid idea. Who the hell wants one wife, let alone several?"
The Chemical Buddha was a lifelong bachelor. (That’s what happens when you die at 25). So he was obviously against the idea of having any type of wife at all. In fact, he was against the idea of any woman staying more than a night and felt much more comfortable if they just left before dawn (after cleaning his house of course). So the idea of multiple wives seemed idiotic to him. He was all for multiple partners and having group sex. He just didn’t want to be responsible for and/or to any of them. To be honest, he didn't like being responsible for/or to himself either. The only thing The Chemical Buddha was willing to be married to was his addiction, desires and whims. Because he could change those at any moment.
Who are you responsible for? Who are you responsible to?
How do you feel about the idea of responsibility?
Where in your life do you need to be more responsible? Where in your life do you need to be irresponsible?

Who Knew?

“My addictions define me.”
While most other people used fancy clothes, cars, and jewelry to tell the world who they were, The Chemical Buddha used sex, drugs and food to define himself. If TCB was afraid of anything, it was that if he didn’t have all of his various addictions, who would he be? How would he define himself? The good thing about his fear is it drove him to pile on even more addictions, so the chance of him shedding them all to get down to his core essence was pretty much impossible. Which means there was very little worry that anyone would ever find out who The Chemical Buddha truly was. Most of all him.
How do you define yourself?
How do you let others know who you are and what you are about?
If you took all of that stuff away, who would you be?

It's Good to Help

“Most people’s help doesn’t help.”
The Chemical Buddha couldn’t understand why people felt the incessant need to help people who didn’t ask for it. He figured it was so they could feel superior by showing someone they’re smarter or wiser or more enlightened. (That was why he did it.) Then there were other times people wanted to give TCB help with his problems or addictions. Except he didn’t ask for their help because he didn’t see it as a problem. But that didn’t stop them from pouring all his booze down the drain, flushing his stash down the toilet, and putting his Twinkies under lock and key. Their actions were usually followed by, ‘it’s for your own good.’ The Chemical Buddha couldn’t get over the self-righteousness of people who thought they knew what was best for someone else. By the way, now is a great time to write a check to help support The Chemical Buddha. PayPal is also accepted. Remember, we’re only doing this because we care and because it’s for your own good. Not because we’re about to go on a beer run.
What do you do for people because it’s for their own good?
How do you feel when you help people who don’t ask for help?
How do you feel asking for help? How do you feel when other people ask?
