"To feel happier, hang out with people who are miserable."
This insight came to The Chemical Buddha fairly early on and he applied it to a lot of areas of his life. If he wanted to feel tall, he hung out with short people (or kids or people in wheel chairs). If you want to feel skinny, hang out with fat people. (But after awhile he noticed a lot of skinny people were hanging out with him for some reason.) Since TCB's ultimate pursuit was happiness (and enlightenment) he decided to hang out with miserable people. And that worked pretty well until hanging out with all those depressing people almost made him want to slit his wrists.
How would you describe the people you have surrounded yourself with?
Are they helping you be the person you want to be or are they trying to keep you from changing?

Back in the High Life Again
"If you're not high on life, I've got something that'll help."
The Chemical Buddha was all about enjoying the moment. He subscribed to taking life's highlights and making them even higher. In fact, he found, with the right 'state' of mind, even mundane things like doing the dishes could be enjoyable. Although, with all of those pretty bubbles to watch, it might take forever to actually get the dishes clean. TCB was all about taking things to the next level. Including the crushing lows he experienced after coming down from life’s 'highlights.' He reasoned, why be depressed when you could be clinically depressed? As you'll see in the insight from June 22nd, to him, it was important to get the most out of everything.
Do you get the most out of life or do you hold a little bit back?
If so, what prevents you from fully stepping into life?
Do you have highs, lows or just try to keep everything on an even keel?
Do you consider a display of excessive emotion to be 'good' or 'bad'? If so, why?

Old Faithful
“There’s nothing a good blowjob can’t help you forget.”
We know it may not seem like it, but there actually were times when The Chemical Buddha got depressed, angry or overwhelmed with his problems. When that happened he found surrounding himself in natural beauty: the stars, the ocean, the Grand Canyon or a good blowjob had the power to help him forget his petty mole hills that he’d built into towering mountains. All that he required was a way to put problems into the proper perspective. Of course looking at the stars, ocean, and Grand Canyon never gave him an orgasm, although they did have the power to make him sleepy. But then he never, ever got too much teeth from any of those natural wonders either.
What problems do you make into big, dramatic, life altering events?
What’s one way you could do to put them into their proper/more accurate perspective?
